Family Holiday at a Dude
Ranch
Montana, Colorado, Texas, Wyoming, Idaho. These are just among the
few States where you can do horseback riding in acres of grasslands
and do an actual round-up. Yes, you can herd cattle. A dude ranch
can offer these adventures and more.
Many families visit a dude ranch for a two-week long vacation either
horseback riding, fishing, herding cattle and horses, or simply
lazing around a rustic cabin doing absolutely nothing but savoring
the breathtaking scenery.
Both children and children at heart will enjoy the American family
vacation package at a dude ranch. For a week or two, a family can be
a guest and participate in activities that Wranglers prepare for
them. A dude ranch guest who has no experience riding a horse will
be taught how to ride by an experienced rider. If there is still
time after the riding lesson, he may request the Wrangler to teach
him how to tie a rope for round-up. Children, on the other hand,
will be assisted in preparing their fishing baits; they may clean
and grill fishes that they caught.
Not all dude ranches are expensive. The expensive ones are those
that have luxurious cabins furnished with state-of-the art
entertainment and kitchen appliances. The cheaper ones are those
that offer cabins furnished with the basic amenities needed by a
regular cowboy or a cowgirl to live comfortably in a ranch.
So, pack your hide boots and a pair of faded blue jeans. Mark your
calendar and take a leave of absence from work for two weeks. The
bonafide cowboy adventure you have been dreaming of since you were a
kid will all come true after a few hours of air flight. Don't turn
your back now. Book the next flight to a dude ranch tomorrow.
